Plex library not updating
(Couchpotato, sonarr or sickrage) as they add content to the folder it can notify plex to update as it adds new content. When I was in this situation it turned out that I'd renamed a hard drive.
Editing the library and re-selecting the media files source folder fixed everything.
There are three components to the Plex Media Server experience.
There’s the media itself (like your TV shows), there’s the actual Plex Media Server that manages your media, and then there are the Plex client applications you access the server from via your Apple TV, your i Phone, or other devices.
Thankfully, the Plex Media Server software has multiple ways you can ensure your media list is always current including manual updating and multiple ways to automate the update process.
Seems if you interrupt an automatic scan, it gets mad at you until you let it anyone is still is interested, this might be a windows i gave up on fixing, i installed the plex server on a windows 7 machine, as opposed to windows 10, migrated the installation files, and the media is on the same QNAP (NAS) and everything works perfectly fine.having said that, i'm sure plex on the windows 10 machine was updating just fine until conclusion is it's fixed, but i'm not clear what the problem really was :(Mine doesn't auto update either, due to the fact that my media is stored on a NAS separate from the server. I standby my decisions to cease updating Plex until they can get some better QA for releases happening.
Effective solution is to enable a library scan every X hours, whatever's an acceptable middle ground. Too much of my media viewing experience relies on Plex for features to randomly be breaking because of untested updates.
Sonarr starts its process automatically at startup. Tried Sonarr, but it doesn' thave as good of torrent support as I'd like - So switched to Sickrage, and I'm enjoying more than I did Beard.
But looking at their feature set they honestly look as the same. I've been running on Sickbeard up until recently, and then heard about Sonarr and rage.
